About: Logo for Matt Telford, Tattoo Artist. Matt is a big fan of "Irezumi" style tattooing, drawing Koi Fish and Japanese culture and their connection to tattoos. So for his branding I wanted to go for something which hinted at this but wasn't overly obvious or culturally appropriating, rather hinting at it but showing off what he really likes as an artist. The background uses water and ink to create a sense of flow and detail against the simple vector gingko leaves. Overall it leaves a simple yet detail vision for Matt's practice. The business cards backgrounds flow into each other when lined up, on top of that the cards also have boxes so the artist can write quotes and dates for clients.
